Every time I am about to leave something, someone or somewhere behind to move forward, a certain" pre-nostalgia" takes place. It could be a job, a person, a city or, as in the past few months, a hotel. This is especially true for places I had the opportunity to live fully and have called home for a specific duration of time.

As in any job, there are things we enjoy doing and others we disdain. More and more, I am realizing that which gives me drive at work (…) What is that which brings you to the state of flow, which makes you forget everything around and focus solely on the present moment?

It's not only about dining; it's about experiencing. A 360° immersion in taste, textures and disrupting expectations. Dishes carefully created with a story and well-thought explanation behind.

Some are ready to pack their things and move on, while others are focusing on fine-tuning their existing realities. One thing is for sure, change is the only constant in life, and now in a galloping speed. ⁠⠀

Just like our lives. We choose the seeds we want to plant today to start harvesting in the future. Things don’t come from one day to another. It needs dedication, commitment and care, to nourish, to water, to give the necessary space to grow.

How admirable it is the job of a cook - spending hours in the kitchen, carefully choosing the best ingredients, preparing and creating unique combinations to nourish our bodies with soul food.

The last few months have been a rollercoaster of changes, emotions, experiments and self-understanding. Three months ago, I would have never imagined being where I am now. I guess one could say I am taking that leap of faith that many talk about.

When staying in a hotel, many take for granted the hard work occurring behind the scenes—hours of preparation, cleaning, organising, scheduling, coordinating.⁠..

This week I’ve reached, what I would rate as, a significant milestone - I made it to my 30s. ⁠
Some say the 30s are the new 20s; others say it is merely the best time of our lives. A time to start harvesting the little seeds that have been planted the past years and decide which ones will be planted next.⁠⠀

Today, exactly two years ago, when I woke up, I had what many would define as everything one needs for a successful life…However, little did I know yet that, that day was a turning point and the beginning of an exciting self-discovery journey.

The more I come across different people, the more amazed I get with the uniqueness of individuality.
Thoughts, patterns, behaviours, beliefs...we all have our fears, our weaknesses, our inner desires, our never spoken about dreams. Some of us are good at putting these into words, while others contemplate rather than express.

It is wired to enjoy the comfort of the known, of the least possible amount of change. It will tell you that things are ok just the way they are, and there is no need for taking risks or stepping into that big unknown outside of the comfort zone. But if we would always follow that principle, we would stop evolving.

We are blinded by the sweet stories told to us. The stories that set our expectations high and make us believe that "happily ever after" will still one day knock on our doors. (…) I (finally) started to unblind and redefine those sweet stories, making them my own.⁠⁠

In our lives, we are repeatedly faced with stepping stones that translate into milestones and turning points. For some, this occurs sporadically, for others continuously. Sometimes collectively, sometimes individually, and occasionally the two coincide.⁠ ⁠Up to the point that the only thing that remains of the past is solely a vague memory of what once was. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠

Labels, names, clusters, bubbles…All ways to categorize individuals to facilitate understanding. To profile people, we have known for years or have just briefly met, and organize them in boxes.

Who else is diving into thoughts?

Questions, doubts, unpredictability, fear…A desperate need for change - the earth is calling. A shout asking us to take responsibility in our own hands and act consciously.
