Corona got us diving
Who else is diving into thoughts?
Questions, doubts, unpredictability, fear…A desperate need for change - the earth is calling. A shout asking us to take responsibility in our own hands and act consciously. To start thinking about our behaviour, not only as individuals but mostly as a human race - as a collective of souls and bodies. A shout to slow down, to reflect and reassess.
In the rush of day-to-day life as we have known until now, the majority of us barely took the time to stop, breath, look inside and ask “who am I?”. This is the time... the time to rethink, reevaluate, reset. What is that, which truly matters?
We have been given an opportunity to strengthen our bodies and minds. To do the things we claim never to have the time to do, to slow down, to breath, to be.
Every change is daunting. We are conditioned to fear the unknown. Things have been changing at a bizarre rate the past week(s), and there is barely any room to plan ahead. A time to practice living in the now. A time to practice doing the best we can in every single instance we have. Go day-by-day mindfully, making conscious decisions, and taking responsibility for our actions. Everything we do (or decide not to do), will have an impact - be it in ourselves, others and/or the environment - be it negative or positive. Every single one of us contributes to the system, in their own way. We are a network of individuals (inter)connected in different ways, each with personal responsibility and freedom of action - we can ALWAYS choose how to act, react or not to act in every situation we experience (the same applies to what we choose to think and feel in each occasion).
Like learning any new skill, or training sports, the rewiring of our brains also needs practice. It requires time, discipline and commitment to achieve a desired stage, and even then it needs maintenance and further development. If each of us would be fully aware of ourselves at a personal level, can you imagine what we could create collectively?
Reflections, questionings and introspections are vital for our self-development; however, a balance is always needed. Letting go of thoughts, and having an empty mind (e.g. through meditation) is equally essential to reset old beliefs and continue rewiring the personal system. So is interacting with others and gaining insights from different sources.
One thing I can assure you: the more open and curious you are for change, development and growth, the more fun you will have during the process. When in a busy lifestyle, we end up limiting ourselves to known beliefs, people, behaviours (the famous comfort zone) that we forget that, there are so many other realities out there that we can’t even imagine that exist. What about using this opportunity Corona has given us to dive into a discovery process? Release everything we thought we knew, to start discovering life from scratch and redefining a new lifestyle.
