Imagine a world where the walls would be put down
The more I come across different people, the more amazed I get with the uniqueness of individuality.
Thoughts, patterns, behaviours, beliefs...we all have our fears, our weaknesses, our inner desires, our never spoken about dreams. Some of us are good at putting these into words, while others contemplate rather than express.
Still, for the sake of simple understanding, we categorize individuals into boxes. Depending on their background, their profession, their way of dressing, their education, or any other form of labelling. Should any of these categorizations matter? Shouldn't we all treat ourselves without pre-set labels, and instead get to know the unique personality behind that first impression?
We share more than we know. Still, the fear of vulnerability is immense among ourselves. The fear of showing weakness, of "being different" or "weird", of embracing who we really are. All because of the judgments we set in our environments. We grow up in a society where there is little space for individuality/uniqueness/differentiation.
We became accustomed to wearing masks, to protect ourselves from others and situations, to respond to expectations. Over the years, we've created protection mechanisms, shields, or walls that give us a (false) sentiment of security. The ones that ”keep the danger away".
Often, however, this also lets us go into old patterns of behaviour, repeating situations, and not letting things flow naturally.
We forget how to simply be, how to embrace each moment as it is, and embrace ourselves in our raw nature. In the process, we also mirror our fears into others, forgetting that they too have a unique set of being.
Imagine a world where the walls would be put down, more doors would open up, and we could co-create a reality of mutual understanding, respect, real beings, and compassion... My personal mission.
