Behind the scenes

When staying in a hotel, many take for granted the hard work occurring behind the scenes—hours of preparation, cleaning, organising, scheduling, coordinating.⁠..⠀

We leave our rooms to explore the surroundings, and when we’re back by the end of the day, the fairies have stopped by and left it impeccable. Sheets as new, carefully lined on the bed, towels well folded in the bathroom, everything shining. ⠀

Between guests, a thorough cleaning and washing of all items. Remember, your room is only one between the many others available in the premise of a hotel.⁠⠀

In the kitchen, a daily early morning careful preparation to offer the guests a fresh breakfast. Lunch and dinner have to be prepared not only for the guests but also for the staff. Daily specials, special requests, and planning the restaurant’s visitors are only a few of the features which demand high levels of preparation, creativity, flexibility and excellent humour.⁠⠀

During the afternoon and evening, there’s always someone on the watch to serve drinks, food and stay at the disposal of guests in the common areas.⁠⠀

Not to mention the needed supply management, logistics, and HR duties happening in the background to always coordinate the staff in their time slots, and answer to their demands the best possible way.⁠⠀
