photoSCHWEIZ 2026

From February 5th - 11th, photoSCHWEIZ 2026 took place once more at the Kongresshaus in the city of Zurich, Switzerland.

photoSCHWEIZ is the largest photography exhibition in Switzerland, showcasing the work of local and international photographers across a wide range of genres.

In 2026, part of my series for unboxing cycles was exhibited:

The menstrual cycle is often compared to the four seasons of nature, as each phase reflects the energy, mood, and qualities of winter, spring, summer, and autumn.

In 2024, I accompanied ten women across Switzerland, each from different backgrounds, to symbolically portray their four menstrual cycle phases in nature, aligned with the corresponding seasons.

Before each shoot, I held a short conversation with each participant to understand her personality in that specific phase and, together, explore how this feeling could best be expressed through a photograph in a natural environment.

The result is a collection of 40 photographs that tell the personal stories of these women and reveal the unique emotional landscapes they experience throughout their cycles. The work becomes an inward journey, illustrating how perceptions, emotions, and energies shift as we move through the different phases of the menstrual cycle.

At photoSCHWEIZ 2026, two of the ten women and their four phases were showcased for the first time, presenting a total of eight images. Below is a brief explanation about the exhibition (as it was also presented during the days of the exhibition), followed by the images presented.

a few impressions at the space:

The exhibition sparked conversations among individuals of all ages and genders, further underscoring the need for open dialogue and greater exchange of knowledge on the subject.
